Fineo set out to unify how professionals learn and grow in finance. Across the industry tools felt disconnected; spreadsheets sat in one place, courses in another and insights scattered in between. The goal was to build a single platform that felt cohesive, credible and effortless to use, turning complex knowledge into something simple to master.

Financial data demands accuracy and trust. The interface had to simplify dense information without losing meaning. Accessibility and localisation added another layer, as Fineo needed to perform across languages and regions with a lean team and a tight schedule.

A shared visual and behavioural system tied everything together. Typography, spacing and motion stayed predictable across pages and devices. The result was a product that felt structured without being rigid, confident without being cold.

The great dilemma

We were torn between a traditional fintech look (serious, data‑heavy) and a lighter, learner‑centric feel. To decide, we built both versions and tested them with finance and legal professionals. The fintech‑style prototype felt credible but dense, with just over half finishing the first lesson. The learning‑inspired version was completed 20% faster and described as more approachable. We ultimately blended the two: keeping fintech’s trustworthy palette and typography while adopting modular, bite‑sized content patterns to make complex topics easier to digest.
